What Nexus Mods can and cannot mean
Console storefront support does not create a Nexus Mods connection. Steam Workshop, a native mod API, anti-cheat handling, and a supported mod manager are not confirmed for Mortal Shell II.
Before you install anything
Check the upload's stated game version, required dependencies, installation steps, conflict notes, and removal steps. A file for the first Mortal Shell is not automatically compatible with Mortal Shell II.
Copy the entire save folder to a separate dated backup, then keep a short list of every file you add so you can undo one change at a time.
Protect your save
A gameplay edit, loader, or save edit can stop a save from loading after an update. Test it on a spare save instead of the run you want to preserve for achievements or a full completion route.
Do not overwrite your only working save during troubleshooting.
